10 Cocktail Recipes for Gin Lovers

When my grandma was in college her nickname was 'Giny' because she drank so much gin. Which is good news for me, because if my grandma used to drink like a fish once... then it must be okay to enjoy being young.

I hope you like gin as much as my grandma did in college because here are 10 amazing cocktails recipes that use Gin!!! 

1. Moonlight

This recipe serves four!

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 ounces of grapefruit juice 
  • 3 1/2 ounces of Gin
  • 3/4 ounce kirsch
  • 3 1/2 ounces of white wine
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest

Grab a cocktail shaker, pour it all in with ice. Shake! Shake! Shake! Strain into a chilled glass and serve immediately.  

Bartender's Tip: Moonlight is a light cocktail that is ideal to make for several people at once.

2. Seventh Heaven

This recipe serves one. 

Ingredients:

  • 1 3/4 ounces of Gin
  • 1/2 ounce maraschino
  • 1/2 ounce grapefruit juice
  • Fresh mint to garnish

Shake all the liquid ingredients over ice cubes until well frosted. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with fresh mint and serve immediately. 

3. Pussy Cat

This recipe serves one. 

  • Cracked Ice
  • Dash Grenadine
  • 1 3/4 ounces gin
  • Pineapple juice
  • Pineapple slice to garnish 

Fill a chilled, old-fashioned glass halfway with cracked ice. Dash the grenadine over the ice and add the gin. Top off with pineapple juice and garnish with pineapple slice. Serve immediately. 

4. Bleu Bleu Bleu

This recipe serves one.

Ingredients:

  • Crushed Ice
  • 3/4 Ounce Gin
  • 3/4 Ounce Vodka
  • 3/4 Ounce Tequila
  • 3/4 Ounce Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 2 Dashes Egg White
  • 3/4 Ounce Blue Curacao
  • Club Soda
  • Lemon Slice to Garnish

Get a cocktail shaker and fill it with crushed ice. Add the gin, vodka, tequila, lemon juice, egg white and Blue Curacao. SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE! Strain it all into a tall glass filled with the crushed ice. Top it off with club soda and garnish with a lemon slice. Be careful, this drink is stronger than it tastes! 

Bartender's Tip: Crowds love any drink that looks pretty and this includes any drink that looks very blue. Long story short, if you want to impress the crowd, Blue Curacao is about to become your new best friend!

5. The Blue Train

You might have guessed it—yup this is another blue drink thanks to your new best friend Blue Curacao

This recipe serves One.

Ingredients:

  • 1 3/4 Ounces Gin
  • 3/4 Ounces Triple Sec
  • 3/4 Ounce Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 Ounces Blue Caracao

Grab a cocktail shaker and pour all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with cracked ice. SHAKE! SHAKE! SHAKE!

6. Grand Royal Clover Club

This recipe serves one.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 Ounces Gin
  • 3/4 Ounce Lemon Juice
  • 3/4 Grenadine
  • 1 Egg White
  • Lime Peel Twist to Garnish

You might have guessed it... Grab a cocktail shaker, pour the ingredients over ice, and SHAKE! SHAKE! SHAKE! Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. I prefer a margarita saucer glass for this one, but really any cocktail glass will do. Don't forget to garnish with a Twist of Lime Peel!

Bartender's Tip: Cut the lime twist over the finished cocktail to release some of the essences into the drink.

7. Tear Drop

This recipe serves one.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 Ounce Gin
  • 1 3/4 Ounces Apricot Nectar
  • 3/4 Ounce Light Creme
  • Crushed Ice
  • 1/2 Ounce Strawberry Syrup
  • Fresh Strawberries to Garnish!

Grab a blender and blend the gin, apricot nectar for 10 -5 seconds or until and cream until thick and frothy. Grab a long glass, fill it with crushed ice, and pour the drink over it. Add a splash of strawberry syrup and garnish with the strawberries! 

8. Alaska

This recipe serves one.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Ounce Gin
  • 1/2 Ounce Yellow Chartreuse

Chill a glass while grabbing your cocktail shaker and SHAKE! SHAKE! SHAKE! the two ingredients together. Strain and enjoy! 

9. Bride's Mother

This recipe serves one.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 Ounces Sloe Gin
  • 2 Ounces Grapefruit Juice
  • 1/2 Ounce Sugar Syrup
  • Crushed Ice
  • Grapefruit Slices to Garnish

Grab that cocktail shaker and SHAKE! SHAKE! SHAKE! Strain over crushed ice and don't forget to garnish with grapefruit slices!

Bartender's Tip: "Sloe Gin" is dark red gin made from steeping Sloe Drupes into the gin. What are Sloe Drupes? Sloe Drupes, also known as Blackthorn, are a very bitter plant locally found in North Africa. 

10. Daisy

This recipe serves one.

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 Ounces Gin
  • 3/4 Ounce Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 Ounce Grenadine
  • 1 Teaspoon Sugar Syrup
  • Club Soda
  • Orange Wedge to Garnish

Grab that cocktail shaker and put some everything (except for the club soda and orange wedge) into it with some cracked ice. Strain into a chilled highball glass and top off with that club soda. Don't forget to garnish with the Orange Wedge.
