Hi, my name is Jerrica and I hate beer. Ha. I drink it every now and then because I’m cheap and beer is usually cheaper when you go out. What’s better than a $2 PBR? Well honestly, lots of things are. But my bank account and my frugal ways surpass whatever my taste buds have to say. Well, not always, but definitely if I find myself going to the bar more than twice a week. And as long as it contains alcohol, it shouldn’t matter right? That sounds absolutely ridiculous but hey, a broke chick has got to do what she’s got to do to get a buzz going on a budget. Plus, if you get a beer at the bar, it’s probably better to sit on that one drink than to down eight margaritas in two hours, which... ya know... guilty. 😳
Anywho, I have recently discovered Bud Light Orange. Emphasis on the light, because that’s exactly what it is. It’s simple yet refreshing. And if I do say so myself, life-changing. There’s something about the beer mixed with hints of orange that does it so much justice. Much lighter than a Blue Moon, which usually comes with oranges attached to the rim. And I don’t know about you, but I’d rather the taste of orange than the garnish of orange. Who wants oranges on their beer that have been sitting in a container all day? And they have probably been placed on my cup by a person who hasn’t washed their hands in who knows how long. Sorry, I am not sorry—I am just saying! If I have to pick a beer at the bar, I usually go for Blue Moon... but not anymore. Bud Light Orange barely has a beer taste and definitely has no hoppy taste, just pure orange-y bliss. Bud Light Lime is also a nice, light, and refreshing option. But, I’m telling you, even though you don’t know me and have no reason to believe me, Bud Light Orange completely trumps Bud Light Lime. Beer and lime is so non-original anyway. This, at least for me, is something new. A new flavor combination that I couldn’t love more. And you can convince yourself that it’s healthy because it contains the word “Orange.” Vitamin C with a kick! And a six-pack will only cost you about $8.99, which is less than one margarita at the bar! A win for my taste buds and a win for my wallet, I’d say.
I’d also say these are perfect for a hot day, whether you’re hanging out at home, chillin’ at the beach, or slow-drinking for hours around a campfire. They’re not heavy and don’t leave you filling full or bloated, which is marvelous. I’m telling you, once you try it, you’ll be hooked. They taste nothing like a typical Bud Light and don’t have that overwhelming, usual beer taste. If someone served it to you in a glass, you probably couldn’t pinpoint the taste or brand, or even realize it was a beer if it weren’t for the color. Besides buying these, I couldn’t even tell you the last time I bought a freakin’ six-pack of anything. And now I’ve found myself buying these just about every weekend for the last three weekends. ‘Tis the season!
And if it’s “stronger” that you’re looking for, add a nip of Fireball into the mix. I know you have heard of “angry balls,” which if you haven’t, it’s hard apple cider mixed with Fireball. Very tasty and very crisp, but also very dangerous. Bud Light Orange mixed with Fireball will not make you angry, it will make you happy. It’s not as sweet as these “angry balls” and you barely even notice the cinnamon flavor of the Fireball at all. You just get the tiniest kick at the end of the sip. They’re probably the best beer to make your own “beer-tails” with. I’m sure there are lots of other things you could add into this orange beer to make it a bit stronger and more like a cocktail. But for now, Fireball takes the win. And you know what, you can drink the entire six-pack and have no regrets... just a happy day. So here’s to the summer of 2018! Keep it light, Bud Light Orange that is. 😜
